I haven’t been doing a lot of scrapping lately, life seems to just be so busy! I have done a few classes lately at Chandon Craft, which have been fun – a few weeks ago we did a Basic Grey class with eight layouts, which was just madness! I managed to get all the cutting out for the layouts done, then just put them together in my own time.
I have been trying to finish off my Egypt album – about a year and a half ago Aaron I went to Egypt for our honeymoon and it was the most amazing trip! Such a diverse country with such stunning sights – coming from Australia, seeing something that’s 200 years old is super rare, so going somewhere where seeing things that are 2000 years old is no big deal it’s a bit mindblowing!
I have about three days worth of photos left to scrap – I’ve nearly filled two albums with my layouts of the trip, but I won’t bore you with all of them, just a few of the most recent ones.
I have about three layouts worth of photos from Karnak temple – this place made me feel so incredibly small!
Materials: Pink Paislee rub-ons, Thickers, can’t remember the papers…
Again, I have lots of layouts from Luxor, but this one’s my favourite. I loved all the statues here as well as the beautiful avenue of sphinxes. Having been to Paris and seen the twin obelisk that used to live here was also pretty special.
Materials: K & Co letters, German scrap, again can’t remember the papers…
Temple of Queen Hatshepsut
The day we visited this temple and the Valley of the Kings it was stinking hot – well over 40 degrees Celsius – and Aaron was sick (everyone in our group was hit by illness at some point!). Even so, Queen Hatshepsut’s story and temple were one of my trip highlights and provided many opportunities for great photos!
Materials: Basic Grey “Little Black Dress” papers, KaiserCraft letters and Thickers.
