I’ve been a bit slack with off the page things lately, mainly because –
a) I’m lazy and they can be time consuming
b) I’ve completely run out of wall space and until we either move house or build an extension I’ve got nowhere to hang them!
That having been said, during my big week o’ scrapping last week (such a shock to go back to work and the real world where scrapping all day isn’t possible!) I had a blast decorating this really cool frame from KaiserCraft.
Materials: KaiserCraft frame and flowers, Prima paper, chipboard elements and flowers, silk ribbon, Ranger paint dabbers, Jo Sonja paint, Distress Inks, Crafter’s Workshop template
So where to start wih this one? I didn’t start in the most logical way, which would have been to paint the frame, I actually stuck the paper on first – in retrospect, it would’ve been easier to paint first. It was a little frustrating that the frame was wider than 12 x 12, but I used strips of the lovely Prima paper to cover the whole frame, then I painted the “FAMILY” word and edges white.
While the paint dried, I decorated the frame with flowers and chipboard stickers.
I left the “FAMILY” word white initially, but when I looked back at it later, I decided it needed some colour, so I dry brushed it with yellow paint – thanks to Mum for helping form that idea! I still thought it needed something, so I grabbed my latest favourite toy, my Crafter’s Workshop template and I sponged some Wild Honey Distress Ink randomly over the top.
I finished off with my other latest favourite silk ribbon.
Now to find a space on the wall for it…
