Unusual for me, here’s some more travel layouts! I’m so far behind on these photos, it’s been well over a year since we went on our big Europe adventure – we’ve even been to Japan between then and now, so I’ve got all of those photos to do as well now! No more holidays until I’m up to date on my scrapping!
Arcade Game Museum St Petersburg
Materials: KaiserCraft Little Treasures paper and collectables, My Minds Eye letter stickers
The Museum of Soviet Arcade Machines in St Petersburg was one of the most fun places we visited for our whole trip – it was like stepping back in time playing on old Soviet arcade games (though Aaron still cheated, just like he does on modern ones!), getting our photo taken in the vintage photo booth and sipping on old-fashioned soft drinks.
Materials: Graphic45 Come Away With Me paper, KaiserCraft letters
I found this layout really hard, I think because these are colours I don’t normally work with. Still, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out and the beautiful photos don’t hurt! The Parthenon in Athens was an amazing place to visit – a beautiful monument, amazing view and there were cats! Heaven for Claire!
Materials: KaiserCraft papers, tags and flowers, doily from the supermarket.
More pastels! I love this photo of Oia, Santorini and I wanted it to be the focus of the layout. I actually stuck it down crooked on purpose, but I now think it would have been better straight – but I’m not so bad that I’m going to redo the layout just for that! We took the bus to Oia, which was quite an adventure in itself, because we’d heard it was the place to enjoy the most beautiful sunset and we were so glad we did, it was spectacular!
I love this paper so much, it’s so easy to work with and although it’s not really “travel” paper, I think it works really well. I do love using paper ranges for things other than what they were intended for! Although not massive fans of the movie Troy, it was pretty cool to see the actual horse constructed for the movie!
Materials: Graphic45 Artisan Style papers and stickers, Kaisercraft bling, Bazzill cardstock
I think I scrap-lifted parts this one from somewhere, but I can’t recall where, so I apologise for the lack of a credit! I think the bright colours really lift the photos. Akrotiri is an ancient site on the island of Santorini and was a really interesting place to visit. The city was destroyed in a volcanic eruption in about 1627 BC and buried in volcanic ash until the 1960s and it is rumoured to be the inspiration behind the story of Atlantis.
Materials: KaiserCraft Oh So Lovely papers and collectables, KaiserCraft transparency, Collections Elements words, TwiddlyBitz flourish, Faber Castell white pen, Graphic45 letter stickers, Basic Grey letter stickers, German Scrap, Bazzill cardstock
This one took me at least three tries to complete – I kept sticking the photo down crooked or on the wrong side of the paper and things just wouldn’t work! But, I’m really happy with what I finally came up with – I was inspired by a layout from here (thank you Pinterest!). I love the touch of the transparency over the photo and the wooden flourish. The photo is of the Freedom Monument in Riga, Latvia, which honours the soldiers killed during the Latvian War of Independence (1918–1920).
