So… I haven’t even finished the photos from our trip to Thailand and Europe last year, but I couldn’t resist making a start on the photos from our Japan trip from this year! My scrapping “to do” list is a mile long… I’d need to take about three years off work just to catch up, but then how would I pay for all these trips I love to scrap?

Birdsong paper is really hard to find now – I bought a pack of it last year just after I booked our flights to Japan, so I’m having to ration it out! I had a bit of trouble with this layout – the border, the bird banner, the flowers and the lady were easy, but finishing it off was a real challenge. The photo kind of looked out in the middle of nowhere by itself, but the addition of the photo corners, some layering and the three “stamps” tied it all together well. I’d really like to lift the lady up on foam tape, but alas, I can’t find any more of the paper, so she’ll have to stay flat!

This one wasn’t quite so challenging – big photos = easy layout! The ticket I hoarded works well as a title, too! We were so lucky, Himeji Castle had been undergoing restoration for many years before our visit and opened only a few weeks before we arrived – it was a spectacular day trip from Kyoto, well worth the trip!
