Finally getting into my Japan trip…

It was over a year ago now that we spent nearly two weeks in Japan – how time flies! – and had the most amazing time. My motivation to scrap the photos by no means reflects how much fun we had on this trip, it was definitely up there with the most fun two weeks of my whole life!

So here we go…

Tokyo Layout

Materials: Cocoa Vanilla paper, Teresa Collins paper, Bazzill, Stampin’ Up white ink

This one is inspired from a layout I found here.  The Teresa Collins paper was a bit too full-on for the page, so I toned it down by going over the whole page in white ink, which I think is really effective (gesso or white paint would have also done, but I was at a retreat and my supplies were limited! I also thought vellum would’ve been good, but again – lack of resources!). I haven’t used a Cricut machine for a while, which is silly given I have one sitting in my cupboard, but I am really happy with the effect of the cut out letters. MUST. USE. CRICUT. MORE!

The other papers are Cocoa Vanilla, which is a brand I’ve never used before, but I will definitely again. They’re an Australian company, which is always good to see, so hopefully I can find some more of their designs soon!

Oh Deer!

"Oh deer" Nara layout

Materials: My Minds Eye papers, Thickers, Teresa Collins gold doilies

A quick and simple layout, but I quite like it. Nara was a really fun place to visit – amazing temples and also hundreds (or thousands!) of tame deer wandering about that you could feed biscuits to. They were so cute, if a little demanding, and we had so much fun feeding them!
